Jenny has been gardening since 2017 and fell in love with cut flowers ever since. She graduated from Texas State with a BA in Psychology (eat em up cats!) and completed courses online in Landscape Design. When she’s not busy planning a farmer‘s market, she enjoys a good game of Uno or chess, baking from scratch, & playing guitar.
Austin is a marine veteran turned chef who was at one point involved with the CIA (Culinary Institute of America). He loves animals - he has 2 dogs, a cat, 2 turtles and a lizard. His favorite things to grow are cactus and vegetables. When he's not busy building a greenhouse in the middle of August, he enjoys video games, stand-up paddle boarding and spending time with family.
At PollenNation Designs, we're passionate about flowers and their ability to bring joy and beauty into people's lives. We grow all our flowers from seeds, corms, and tubers right here in our own backyard. We strive to plant mainly varieties that are beneficial to our pollinators including zinnias, cosmos, sunflowers, snapdragons, and white dill to name a few.
Instead of using harsh chemicals and fertilizers (sorry MiracleGro), we use the richest compost available and amend the soil each season prior to planting. We believe that it's our job to help reduce the carbon footprint of growing and selling a fresh, quality product (#grownnotflown).
We aim for a week-long vase life using sustainable gardening practices as well as properly conditioning our flowers prior to arranging them. That means your flowers were harvested typically less than 12 hours before you receive them - it doesn't get much fresher than that.
