About Us

Meet Jenny

Jenny’s path to flowers hasn’t been a straight line—but it’s always led back to growing things. She began gardening in 2017 and quickly fell head over heels for cut flowers, but the seeds were planted long before then. She graduated from Texas State University (eat ’em up, Cats!) where she earned a BA in Psychology, then followed her creative instincts into Interior Design. Life took her to Knoxville, Tennessee, where she welcomed her daughter, Caroline, in 2017—an experience that reshaped everything and ultimately pulled her back home to Texas.

After returning to Texas, Jenny’s interests continued to evolve. She pivoted toward Landscape Design and, finally, flowers—the place where creativity, nature, and hands-on work all met. Along the way, she wore many hats: Operations Manager at a granite fabrication company, designer with Closets by Design, door-to-door roofing salesperson, and even dabbled in custom front door design. Each role taught her something valuable about design, logistics, people, and running a business—but none of them quieted the same longing. What she really wanted was dirt under her nails and flowers growing in the sun.

That pull eventually became impossible to ignore. Today, Jenny grows and designs seasonal flowers in San Antonio, Texas with intention, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for natural beauty. When she’s not planning a market or tending the garden, she’s spending time with Caroline, playing guitar, or “just looking” at Rainbow Gardens to see how many plants might actually be too many plants (jury’s still out). At the heart of it all is a simple truth: she always just wanted to grow flowers—and now she finally gets to. 🌸

Our Love For Flowers

Backyard flower farm

At PollenNation Designs, we're passionate about flowers and their ability to bring joy and beauty into people's lives. We grow all our flowers from seeds, corms, and tubers right here in our own backyard. Each season begins in trays, where hundreds of seeds are carefully started and nurtured before being transplanted into the garden beds at just the right time. This hands-on, from-scratch approach allows us to grow stronger plants, extend our growing season, and stay closely connected to every stage of the process.

We focus on growing varieties that are beneficial to pollinators, including zinnias, sunflowers, snapdragons, and scabiosa to name a few. Through careful succession planting and seasonal crop rotation, we’re able to offer fresh, locally grown blooms from Valentine’s Day through Thanksgiving, following the natural rhythm of the seasons rather than forcing flowers out of them.

Our garden is built on healthy soil. We use only organic compost and amend our beds each season prior to planting — never harsh chemicals or synthetic fertilizers (sorry, MiracleGro). PollenNation Designs is proud to be a Certified Wildlife Habitat through the National Wildlife Federation, supporting birds, bees, and beneficial insects while helping reduce the carbon footprint of growing and selling a fresh, quality product (#grownnotflown).

We aim for a week-long vase life using sustainable growing practices and proper flower conditioning. Your flowers are typically harvested less than 12 hours before you receive them — it doesn’t get much fresher than that.

Over the years, we’ve shared our blooms at local farmers markets and supplied flowers to other San Antonio florists, and we’re excited to be preparing for our first wedding in December 2026 — a meaningful milestone grown from the same backyard garden where it all began.
